More info coming soon....

Coach Rashid -8U

Coach Adam has been involved in Bed-Stuy Sluggers for the past four years -- first when his son was in t-ball, and for the last two years as head coach of the 8U team. Coach Adam has fond memories of playing baseball as a child and seeks to develop a positive environment where all youth can learn the great game of baseball. Coach Adam also believes that, by participating in the Bed-Stuy Sluggers program, players will develop life skills that carry beyond the field: working hard to accomplish goals; respecting and valuing yourself and others; working together as a team; and serving your community to make positive changes.

Coach Mapes - 9U

Played 4 years of varsity baseball at Oberlin College in Ohio, graduating in 2019. I was an all-conference and all-region catcher there. I played varsity football for Oberlin too. Since graduating, I've coached here in New York for a few different teams, most recently at Trevor Day School in the Upper East Side. I've also been doing private hitting and catching lessons for all ages for about 5 years now.

Coach Wilson - 9U

Baraka Wilson is a former baseball player and current coach who has been involved in baseball for 17 years. In his youth, he played for the prestigious South Jersey club programs, Brooklawn American Legion & Tri-State Arsenal, which produced athletes such as Mike Trout. He then became a 3 year starter and captain at The Peddie School in New Jersey’s Mid-Atlantic Prep League while also leading Peddie’s defense in football as a defensive back. Post-high school, Baraka went on to play baseball at George Washington University before injuries ceased his playing career. Since playing, he has coached 10U in his hometown in New Jersey specializing in outfield defense, base running, batting, and game strategy. Baraka now has a successful career in partnerships and business strategy in the financial and entertainment industries.
